Dennis Srbeny - the German goalscoring machine
From Berlin to the Bundesliga
Dennis Srbeny is a German professional footballer who plays as a forward for 2. Bundesliga side SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Born in Berlin, Srbeny began his career with local club Hertha Zehlendorf before moving to Hansa Rostock in 2011. He made his professional debut for Hansa Rostock II in the 3. Liga in 2012, and went on to make 50 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals.
Move to England
In 2016, Srbeny joined English Championship side Norwich City. He made his debut for the Canaries in a 2-1 win over Rotherham United, and went on to make 45 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals. He was part of the Norwich City team that won the Championship title in 2018-19, and helped the club to promotion to the Premier League.
Return to Germany
In January 2020, Srbeny returned to Germany, joining SC Paderborn 07. He made his debut for Paderborn in a 2-1 defeat to 1. FC Heidenheim, and went on to make 32 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals. He helped Paderborn to win promotion to the Bundesliga in 2020-21, and scored four goals in his first six Bundesliga appearances.
International career
Srbeny has represented Germany at youth level, and has played for the Germany U19, U20 and U21 teams. He has not yet made his debut for the senior Germany team.
Playing style
Srbeny is a powerful and physical forward who is good in the air and has a strong shot. He is also a good finisher, and has a knack for scoring goals in important matches. He is a hard-working player who is always willing to put in a shift for his team.
