Jack Grealish Braces for Abuse from Ireland Fans in Nations League Match

City and England Star Set to Face Hostile Atmosphere in Dublin

Manchester City and England winger Jack Grealish has been warned to expect a hostile reception from Ireland fans when the two sides meet in a Nations League clash in Dublin on Saturday.

Grealish, who has Irish heritage but opted to represent England at international level, has been targeted by some Ireland fans in the past, and he is likely to be the subject of more abuse when he steps out onto the pitch at the Aviva Stadium.

Former Ireland international Kevin Kilbane believes that Grealish will be subjected to "a lot of verbals" from the home crowd, and he has urged the player to "be prepared for it" and ignore the abuse.

"He's going to be getting it. There's no doubt about it," Kilbane said. "There's going to be a lot of verbals thrown his way, there's going to be a lot of abuse. He's got to be prepared for it."

"He's got to just go out there and play his game, and ignore all the stuff that's going on around him," Kilbane added. "He's a big enough personality to handle it."

Grealish has previously stated that he is proud of his Irish heritage, but he has also stressed his commitment to England.

"I'm English. I'm very proud of my Irish roots. My dad was a fighter, he fought for Ireland at the highest level," Grealish said.

"But my football career has been with England. I've always said that if I had the opportunity to play for England, I would. And I'm very proud to do that."

England will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Hungary in their Nations League opener. Grealish will be one of the key players for Gareth Southgate's side as they look to get their campaign back on track.
